The electric guitar was invented in 1931 and a dream come true for the jazz guitarists who needed to be heard when performing with big band ensembles. The earliest recorded electric guitars included guitarist and luthier Les Paul who's innovative idea for a solid body electric guitar, aptly named "The Les Paul", literally changed the sound of music forever. Along with Leo Fender's design "The Esquire" and "The Stratocaster, the "Les Paul" guitar has forged the way and pioneered for decades.
