Electric Guitar Combo Amplifiers
'Combo' amplifiers combine a power amplifier section and one (or more!) speakers, usually housed in a wooden cabinet. Not only is this convenient for taking on your travels, they are great for practicing at home whenever you feel like a spontaneous jamming session. For recording at home, 5w valve/tube amps like the Marshall DSL5C are a very popular choice, and give you that 'vintage' warm tone as soon as you plug in your axe. Most guitar combos will have built-in EQ and Tone controls to help fine-tune the exact sound you want, and others feature built-in effects like Reverb, Distortion, Delay and Chorus so you can really start to get creative. Whether it's classic, crunch or high-gain tone you want, we've got the right combo for you.
Bass Guitar Combo Amplifiers
For rehearsals, studio recording sessions, or small club performances, electric and upright bass players typically use a bass combo amplifier. Usually handling frequencies under 500hz, bass combos are often reinforced and ported to help distribute sound more efficiently. Check out our range of Ashdown and Eden combos that are tailor-made to handle the more demanding lower frequencies of a bass instrument, used in studios and live sound rigs around the world. Many Bass combos will still have built-in EQ and tone-shaping controls you can get the right sound for your bass.
Electric Guitar Heads
Electric Guitar Heads are portable power amplifiers that can be partnered with cabinets or connected directly to a live PA. Many feature the same tone and FX controls like the Combos above, and allow you to pair it up with a speaker cabinet that suits you. Valve and Tube amps (also known as Vacuum Tubes) are still highly regarded for their warm, rich tone, such as the Orange TH series. Why not check out our range of Orange Micro heads - small enough to be easily transported, but offering up a staggering 20 watts of classic valve tone that will seriously blow you away. Solid-State amps generally sound a bit 'cleaner' than Tube amps, but are usually lighter and cheaper - great for beginners. Modern, digital amps like the Marshall Code 100H offer a comprehensive range of modelling and preset sounds, with built in effects, tuner and even USB & Bluetooth technology to connect your mobile device or computer.
Bass Guitar Heads
For that bone-shaking bottom end we all love at a live gig, our range of Bass Guitar Amp Heads offer all the juice you'll need for even the most demanding venues. We stock a range of Valve and Tube heads that offer up warm and rich low-end, such as the Ashdown ABM Series - 1200 watts of power in a compact and portable head!
Electric Guitar Cabinets
Most Guitar Cabinets (or 'cabs' as they are often known) can be paired up and daisy-chained with an amplifier of your choice, as mentioned above. Whilst many combo amps will commonly have 1 or 2 speakers or 'woofers', cabinets allow you to extend your rig with as many as 4, 8 or 10 speakers in a single chassis. Most cabinets can be connected with a 1/4" Jack speaker cable, or a 'Speakon' type cable from your amp. Simply pair a suitably-rated cabinet, depending on your amps output, and you've got stage-ready sound ready to rock.

Tailored to suit the cleaner, lighter sound of an acoustic guitar, these amps are often transparent, without adding anything 'extra' to colour your tone.
